The sun was shining in Atlanta yesterday as the Merchant Advisory Group’s Mid-Year Conference carried on into day two. After a busy first day, everyone from Cardinal returned, ready to tackle day two.
It was an exciting day as Cardinal’s own Ian Poole moderated a panel on gift card fraud in the morning, and delivered a presentation on 3DS 2.0 and what it means for merchants in the afternoon. Both the panel and the presentation were well-attended and the audience was very receptive and attentive, as they asked a lot of thought-provoking questions.
Some of the other sessions covered EMV and the growing popularity of chip-based cards, as well as the liability shift for merchants. 3DS 2.0 was also a hot-button topic, however there is still some ambiguity and uncertainty surrounding it, because it is a new development in the payments industry. Fortunately, Cardinal is hosting a webinar entitled, “What Online Merchants Need to Know About 3DS 2.0” next Thursday that will clear up any confusion surrounding this popular topic. You can register for the webinar here.
The day concluded with another happy hour with more snacks and drinks. Everyone on the Cardinal team did a lot of networking at both the happy hour and the conference, and met a lot of old, and new friends. Thank you to the Merchant Advisory Group for hosting another great Mid-Year Conference. We’re already looking forward to the next one!
